Overview
If you’ve set expiration dates for points and rewards, you can set Lootly to notify the customers before the expiration date so they take action.
This guide explains the purpose of these notifications, how to enable and configure them and how to customize them.
Points Expiration Email
What is it?
This is a system notification whose purpose is to let your customers know their points are about to expire and prompt them to take action.
How does it work?
If you enabled point expiration (this is done in Points -> Settings) you also have the ability to enable 2 emails which serve the purpose of reminding customers of the expiration date: the reminder email and the final chance email:
For each of these, click on the Edit button to choose:
Whether you want to send an email
When do you want the email to be sent to the customer
Once you’re done, save changes on the settings page.
How to customize the points expiration email
Once you enable the points expiration emails, you can customize the design and text of these emails.
To do this, go to: Display -> Email Notifications -> Points Expiration Reminder - > Edit.
In the editor, customize the different elements.
Save your changes.
Reward Expiration Email
What is it?
This is a system notification whose purpose is to let your customers know the rewards they obtained but haven’t yet used on an order, are about to expire and prompt them to take action.
How does it work?
If you enabled coupon expiration (this is done in Spending -> for each reward expiration will be set separately in the reward configuration page) then you have the option to enable the reward expiration email.
How to customize the reward expiration reminder email
To do this, go to: Display -> Email Notifications -> Reward Expiration Reminder -> Edit
At the top of the screen, enable the email first.
Then use the editor to customize the subject line, body text and other elements you wish to add in your email.
