Maropost Commerce Cloud

Learn how to install and setup Lootly into your Maropost Commerce Cloud store.

Written by Aleksandra Velkova

Overview

This guide will help you to implement Lootly in your Maropost store in just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Install Lootly app on Maropost

As a Maropost merchant, you can use Lootly as an add-on for your e-store.

  1. Sign into your Maropost control panel and navigate to the Add-ons menu on the left side.

  2. Scroll down to the Marketing section and find the Lootly app.

  3. Click “Install” and follow the on-screen prompts to finish the installation.

Step 2: Adjust Lootly order settings

Once the above settings are set up, the Lootly widget will be injected into the store.

As new orders flow into Lootly, customers are awarded with points automatically.

To adjust how points are calculated based on order discounts or shipping, in your Lootly account navigate to:

Integrations -> Overview -> Maropost

Note: please make sure that Maropost is marked as “Enabled” in Integrations -> Manage -> Maropost

From here you can adjust:

  • Exclude Coupon Discounts - this means we do not give points for a coupon value used on the order. By default this should be checked. Example: Order is for $100 - discount of $20 = $80 order value, we give points based on the $80.

  • Include Shipping - option to award points for the shipping value. By default this is not checked, meaning points are not awarded for the shipping cost.

  • Include taxes - option to award points for the value of taxes in the order. By default, this is unchecked, meaning we don't issue points for the value of taxes.

Once done with these settings, save your changes in Lootly.

FAQ:

When are points issued for an order?

  • When the order becomes "Fully paid" in Maropost, Lootly will credit it with points.

When are points deducted for a refunded/cancelled order?

  • Whenever an RMA is approved, Lootly will deduct points from the customer point balance.

Why is the value of the taxes in rewardable total breakdown different than the GST in the order invoice?

  • The “Taxes” value shown in Lootly’s Rewardable Total Breakdown may show a slightly different number than the “GST included” value on the Neto order invoice. This is expected and by design.

    Neto calculates GST on the final amount after the discount is applied. Lootly calculates GST based on the original product price before the discount. The difference only appears in the tax line of the breakdown display and only on orders where a coupon or discount was used.

    The Grand Total and the Rewardable Total are always correct and will match between both systems. Points are awarded based on the correct amount. Only the tax line in the breakdown may look different.

    For example: a $129.95 product with a $10 coupon. Neto shows GST = $10.90 (tax on $119.95). Lootly shows $11.81 (tax on the original $129.95). The Grand Total of $119.95 and the points calculation are identical in both.

Step 3: Upload coupon codes

Once you have configured your program's offer in Lootly, you will need to submit a job request at Maropost's job request portal to obtain a batch of coupons for each reward you wish to offer in your Points program as well as your referral rewards.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Maropost's Job Request Portal and navigate to Data Services -> Lootly Voucher Code Setup.

  2. Fill in the details based on their template and submit.

  3. Maropost will then provide you with a timeline estimate and a quote for the job and will send over the generated batch of coupons as requested by you.

Upload the coupon codes that your customers will get as they redeem points for rewards:

  1. Go to Points -> Spending;

  2. If you haven't already, click on Add Reward and choose the type of rewards that you’ll offer in your program;

  3. In each reward page, scroll down to the Reward Codes section -> click on Add Codes:

  • An import tool will open prompting you to upload a document with your coupon codes. This should be a simple CSV file with 1 column containing your coupon codes:

Once the CSV file is uploaded, save your changes and enable your program.

  • Note: You should do the same process for the referral rewards too.

  • Note on free shipping reward coupon codes: if you have special shipping rules that apply to coupon codes for free shipping, make sure you specify these in the job request to Maropost. For example, if you want free shipping not applicable on a group of products called "dangerous goods", make sure to include these specifications in the job request. Since these oupon codes are generated in batch, they need to have these conditions applied prior to uploading them in Lootly.

  • Please note that if coupon codes are not uploaded for each reward separately, customers won't be able to obtain their coupons once they spend their points.
